How to Set Up Your Crosshair in CS2
The crosshair in Counter-Strike 2 directly affects shooting accuracy and play comfort. A well-tuned crosshair helps you catch heads faster and strain your eyes less. In this guide we'll cover how to set up your crosshair in CS2 through the menu and the console, and how to instantly import your favorite pro's crosshair.
Where the crosshair is configured
The most convenient way is the built-in menu: “Settings → Crosshair”. There you can see in real time how the crosshair changes as you adjust style, color, size, thickness and gap. For fine-tuning and importing ready-made presets you use the console.

The main crosshair commands
- cl_crosshairstyle 4 — a classic static crosshair (it doesn't move when shooting).
- cl_crosshairsize 2 — the length of the crosshair lines.
- cl_crosshairthickness 1 — the thickness of the lines.
- cl_crosshairgap -2 — the gap between the lines in the center.
- cl_crosshair_drawoutline 1 — a black outline for contrast.
- cl_crosshairdot 0 — a dot in the center (1 to enable).
Setting up the color
The color is set with the cl_crosshaircolor command. Value 1 is green, 2 is yellow, 3 is blue, 4 is cyan, 5 is a custom RGB color. For your own shade, use cl_crosshaircolor 5 and set the components: cl_crosshaircolor_r, cl_crosshaircolor_g, cl_crosshaircolor_b (from 0 to 255).
Ready-made presets
- Thin static: style 4, size 1.5, thickness 0.5, gap -3, outline 1.
- Classic dot: style 4, size 2, thickness 1, gap -2, dot 1.
- Large for beginners: style 4, size 3, thickness 1.5, gap 1, outline 1.
How to import a pro's crosshair
In CS2 every crosshair has a short share code that starts with CSGO-. To import a pro player's crosshair, open “Settings → Crosshair → Import from share code”, paste the code and confirm. The crosshair is applied instantly — no manual command input needed.
Set up your crosshair once to match your play style — and don't change it too often. A stable, familiar crosshair matters more than the “perfect” one: muscle memory works better when the picture in front of your eyes doesn't jump from match to match.
