How to Enable the Console in CS2
Settings3 min readUpdated
The developer console in Counter-Strike 2 is needed to connect to servers with the connect command, import crosshairs, apply configs and change settings that aren't in the menu. It takes half a minute to enable.
Enabling the console in the settings
- Launch CS2 and open Settings (the gear icon).
- Go to the “Game” → “Game” section.
- Find “Enable Developer Console (~)” and set it to “Yes”.
Binding a key
By default the console opens with the “~” key (tilde, to the left of the number 1). If it doesn't work, go to Settings → Keyboard and Mouse → find “Toggle Console” and assign a key that suits you.
Testing it
Press the key you bound — the console input field slides up from the bottom. Type, for example, status and press Enter. If you get a response, the console works and you can connect to servers.
